Tips for the planning the perfect catering for your breakfast meeting or event

Breakfast meetings or events are becoming more and more popular for many companies due to the higher attention span of attendees and the lower cost of catering in comparison to lunch or after work events.

Morning meetings are said to be the most productive as you are catching attendees at their sharpest point of the day when their minds are at their peak!

Whether it be a meeting, seminar, presentation, or networking, follow our tips below to ensure a smooth and productive breakfast event.

First things first – coffee!

Wake your attendees up for your morning meeting with high quality coffee… At R&V we use a blend of handpicked Brazilian and Indian Arabica beans, ethically sourced from Limini Coffee. All coffee is made fresh each morning and kept hot for hours in our insulated flasks.

Remember to always cater for everyone by including decaff coffee, tea and hot chocolate in your drink spread. Having fresh juice available too is always a nice extra.

To add that bit of fun and luxury why not book a mobile barista/ coffee cart for your morning event? Get in touch here for details on how to make that happen!

Now let’s talk about food…

Breakfast has always been considered the most important meal of the day – it can give you the oomph to start your day on a high and make you more alert and attentive for the tasks ahead.

Studies have shown that breakfast aids better mood, improves memory and focus, as well as boosting energy. With this in mind, providing your event/ meeting attendees with a fulfilling, nutritious breakfast is a no-brainer!

Serving breakfast continental style works well for corporate breakfast events with a bespoke spread, tailored to your requirements. Include items such as pastries, muffins, a seasonal fruit platter or fruit salad, yoghurt & granola pots, as well as the all-important coffee and juice.

Many companies are now moving away from the old-fashioned hot, plated breakfasts and going for a less formal breakfast buffet for their morning events.

Typical English breakfast offerings like scrambled eggs, bacon, beans tend to be overcomplicated and messy. Instead opt for baked goods, yoghurts and breakfast sandwiches – guacamole & cheese ciabattas or a good old BLT make for a great start to the day.

Be sure to check for any dietary requirements before the event to ensure everyone can enjoy a nice fulfilling breakfast. At R&V we have vegan mini Danish pastries and gluten free granola bars, as well as vegan & GF yoghurt and granola pots, vegan breakfast ciabattas and fruit so that most dietary requirements can be catered for!

If you would like a healthy breakfast buffet, discuss with your caterer what options they think would work best. Fruit salad, granola and yoghurt never disappoint!

Alternatively, if the aim of the morning event is to socialise and boost office morale then including sweet treats in your breakfast spread could help get endorphins going – comfort foods help people relax and become chattier! Why not have some blueberry or chocolate muffins on offer, or even some cakes?

Final details

Ensure you have enough crockery, cutlery, glassware, and napkins for your event or ask for your caterer to assist with this.

Always consider how long you intend the meeting or event to run as this should affect the quantity of food and coffee you have available.

By choosing a professional catering company to assist with your event, you can relax and concentrate on the business or networking at hand, rather than worry about the nitty gritty issues concerning food and drink.
