The Brief

Teneo initially approached us looking for catering and drinks service for around 60 guests at its Manchester office.

The event was being held in the office’s rooftop event space, and the team wanted a catering partner who could provide both a mobile bar serving wines, beers and soft drinks and a selection of canapés for guests to enjoy during the afternoon.

As plans developed, the final guest list increased to approximately 70 people, with bar service running from 4pm until 7pm and food served at around 5pm.

It was also important that the canapé selection catered for a variety of dietary requirements, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices available.

Planning the Event

We worked closely with Rachel at Teneo ahead of the event to make sure everything was taken care of.

Together, we planned the canapé menu, discussed the most suitable drinks options and calculated quantities based on the number of guests and length of the event. We also agreed the best time to serve the food, allowing guests to arrive, settle in and enjoy a drink before the canapés were brought out.

Having a clear plan in place meant Teneo’s team could focus on enjoying the event rather than worrying about catering, stock levels or service logistics on the day.

Setting Up the Rooftop Bar

Our service team arrived at Teneo’s Manchester office 90 minutes before the event began, giving us plenty of time to prepare the rooftop space and assemble our mobile bar before guests arrived.

Once everything was set up, the bar was stocked with the agreed selection of wines, beers and soft drinks ready for service from 4pm.

The canapés arrived separately and slightly later in the afternoon. This allowed us to keep the food as fresh as possible before serving it to guests at 5pm.

Throughout the event, our team managed the bar and food service, leaving Teneo’s team free to relax and spend time together.

Leaving Everything as We Found It

Our involvement didn’t stop when the final drinks had been served.

Once the last guests had left, our team cleared the event area, packed away the equipment and dismantled the mobile bar. Everything was removed from the rooftop and the space was left as it had been before we arrived.

From the initial menu planning through to the final clear-up, our aim was to make the whole experience as straightforward as possible for the Teneo team.

Being invited back to cater for Teneo’s summer staff event for a second year was a fantastic endorsement of the service provided by the Robert & Victor team.
